On October 24, 2024, as ANKUDA, we organized a workshop in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) on Workshop on “Türkiye’s Strategic Stocks and Government-Led Emergency Preparedness and Response”. The workshop was moderated by our co-founders, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bağcı and Dr. Gülsüm Akbulut, who also participated as speakers.
During our workshop, Prof. Dr. Haluk Kasnakoğlu, a former professor at METU in Agricultural Economics, Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Güneş from Ankara University’s Department of Agricultural Economics, and Prof. Dr. Sibel Salman from Koç University’s Department of Industrial Engineering, contributed their expertise.
Among the distinguished attendees were Stephen Cahill, WFP Türkiye Country Director and Representative, Selma Masic, WFP Head of Partnerships, and Margaret Rehm, WFP Türkiye Country Deputy Director and their team.
Also present were representatives from the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC), including Emrah Öztürk, TRC Head of Pre-Recovery Department, Büşra Alıcı Aslan, TRC Manager of Disaster Nutrition Department, and Halil İbrahim Murat, TRC External Relations, who shared their insights.
