Dr. Adem AKKAYA

Dr. Adem Akkaya has been a member of the Board of Directors of the German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Istanbul since 2018 and is responsible for the Energy Committee. He is the founding director of the representative office of NRW.Global Business in Turkey.

He studied business administration at the University of Frankfurt and completed his doctorate at the University of Mainz at the Chair of Corporate Taxation, where he also worked as a research assistant. After a language stay in the USA, he worked in Istanbul as an assistant professor of accounting at Yeditepe University and as a lecturer in entrepreneurship at Marmara University. He also worked for the European Investment Bank in Ankara as part of its project "Technical Assistance for Small and Medium-Sized Project Financing by the Turkish Banking Sector".

Dr. Adem Akkaya advises German companies in Türkiye and Turkish companies in Germany on their investment projects. He is the owner of European Project and Business Consulting Ltd (2006) and has been the representative of NRW.Global Business in Turkey since 2007. The state-owned foreign trade promotion organisation NRW.Global Business pursues international location policy for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and promotes foreign direct investment worldwide. He supports investors in tax and legal issues and provides detailed information on the economic structure and industry clusters. He analyses investment projects, identifies suitable locations, finds suitable business partners and accompanies investment projects from the first step, from the initial contact to the successful establishment and beyond.
